Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of GarageMap (https://garagemap.ca). By using the site, requesting quotes or booking with a shop through it, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What GarageMap is

GarageMap is a directory of independent car repair, tire and auto body shops in the Calgary region, and a service that collects repair prices from those shops on your behalf so you can compare them. The shops are independent businesses. We are not a repair shop, we do not perform repairs, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a shop.

Quotes and bookings

• Quotes are estimates given by shops based on the description you provide. The final price is set by the shop and may change once it sees the car.
• A booking sent through GarageMap is a request, not a confirmed appointment, until the shop confirms it with you.
• Requesting quotes is free. Any work you agree to is paid to the shop, on the shop's terms.

Your account

Requesting quotes requires signing in with a Google account, so shops hear from real people and your quotes have somewhere to land. You agree to give accurate information in your requests and bookings, and you are responsible for activity under your account. To keep the service workable for shops, we limit how many requests an account can have open at once, and we may suspend or close accounts used to send false requests or otherwise abuse the service.

Acceptable use

• Send quote requests only for repairs you genuinely want priced.
• Do not misrepresent who you are or enter someone else's details without their permission.
• Do not scrape, overload, probe or otherwise interfere with the site.

Directory information

Shop listings are compiled from public sources and from the shops themselves. Hours, services and contact details change, and we cannot promise every listing is complete or current — confirm anything that matters with the shop directly. If you own a shop and something is wrong, email us and we will correct it.

Ownership

The site, its design and its content belong to GarageMap. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors. Shop names and logos belong to their owners; a listing here is not an endorsement by them or of them.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranty that the site, its listings or the quotes relayed through it are error-free, and we are not liable for the work a shop performs, the prices it charges, or losses arising from your dealings with a shop. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

Changes and termination

We may change the service or these terms; when the terms change we update this page and the date at the top, and your continued use is acceptance of the new terms. You can stop using the service, or ask us to close your account, at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute belongs to the courts of Alberta.
